The Losing Touch Project

Designed as the counterpart to The Keep In Touch Project, The Losing Touch Project uses touch as a means to subtract data from digital images.  Whereas KIT was the end result of double exposure film photography's additive effects, here digital photographs are being taken from social media archives and digitally manipulated to visually disintegrate as the viewer continues to touch them on his or her mobile device or tablet browser.

The end result of the project is a performance of removal – one that emphasizes the intimate relationship between viewer and device, simultaneously distancing the viewer from the image, its owner, and the site creator.
